Our attitude about life changes how we feel

What a beautiful day! Our attitude about life changes how we feel. It changes our neuropeptides and neurotransmitters. If we wear colorful clothes, and put on a happy face, it makes others feel good as well as ourselves. We can change our world for the better. I woke up this morning feeling very anxious with lots of unresolved pain in my body. Then I went to the Y to teach my class. Afterwards, a man came up to me and congratulated me on my classes. He said that he always feels better after taking them. My classes make you work, but then I wind down with a guided imagery that puts people in a different place that makes them feel good both inside and out.

Afterwards I walked on the track and realized if we hide our pains and tell people we feel good even when we obviously don't, it begins to change how we feel. Then as I was leaving, I met a wonderful older friend who was beginning his walk. He said how much he liked my shoes. They are very colorful to not only brighten up my day, but the day of others. My colors were a blessing to him.

When we face difficult times or hardships in life, we may distance ourselves from God. It helps if we find a special time each day to focus on all the many blessings God has given us. What are you thankful for?

The following is one of my favorite poems that I would like to share with you.

"The Wings of Prayer"

Close your eyes

and open your heart

feel your worries and cares depart,

Yield yourself to the Father above,

and let Him hold you

secure in His love -

life on earth

grows more involved

with endless problems

that can't be solved -

God only asks us to do our best,

then He will take over

and finish the rest -

When you are tired,

discouraged and blue,

there's always one door

that is open to you -

And that is the door

to "The House of Prayer"

And you'll find God waiting

to meet you there,

And "The House of Prayer"

is no farther away

Than the quiet spot

where you kneel and pray

For the heart is a temple

when God is there

As we place ourselves

in His loving care,

And He hears every prayer

and answers each one

When we pray in His name

"Thy will be done"

And the burdens that seemed

to heavy to bear

Are lifted away

on "the wings of prayer.
