Continuation Psalms 23

The shepherds responsibility is to keep his flock at peace and contented. He must be at close watch on their behavior. Similarly in the Christian life, there are bound to be small irritations and frustrations. But we can come to quiet contentment despite them by leaning on Christ for direction. He makes this possible by giving us His gracious Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit makes real in me the presence of Christ. He brings calmness, serenity, and peace to me in the face of frustrations.

I have my spiritual, emotional, and physical battles. But if I calm down enough to let Christ take over, He quiets my mind. He hears my needs more when I talk out loud to Him; pleading to Him to help me because it is more than I can handle. He brings to my consciousness the awareness that He is dealing with the situation at hand.

One of my goals is to practice contentment in Christ. What is your goal?
